I have been a music lover all my life, singing in a boys choir in the 1950s, playing slide trombone with bands in grade school, junior high, high school, and college, playing banjo, guitar, and baritone uke with folk groups in college and beyond, playing trombone in a brass choir, and playing tailgate trombone – occasionally singing as well – with several traditional (Dixieland) jazz bands for the past twenty years.
